Marathon

1. Date. Time. Organizer
The SEB Tallinn Marathon will take place on Sunday, September 8th, 2013 in the City Centre of Tallinn.

The SEB Tallinn Marathon is organized by Sport Event Team (Spordiürituste Korraldamise Klubi MTÜ in Estonian), in co-operation with the Tallinn City Government and sponsors.

2. Course. Start. Finish
The competition centre will be located on Vabaduse square (Freedom square), in City Centre of Tallinn.

The race will start at 9:00 AM from the street cross of Pärnu and Valli.

The marathon will consist of 2 laps (2 x 21.1 km): Pärnu str - Viru circle – Narva street – Pirita road – Merivälja road – Merivälja road – Pirita road – Nafta str – Tuukri str – Ahtri str – Rannamäe road – Pikk str – Tolli str – Laboratooriumi road – Suurtüki str – Schnelli park - Toompuiestee – Kaarli str – Vabaduse square.

The course will consist of pavement roads and will be marked. For everybody’s safety, the participants must obey orders given by traffic organizers.

The maximum race time will be 7 hours.

There will be 15 refreshment stations on the course. Refreshment stations are located on kilometer approx.:

The stations will offer water, sports drinks, food, etc.

In every stations there is a medical service and a toilet.

The race will finish on Vabaduse (Freedom) square.

3. Participants
The lower age limit for the marathon is 18 years. A participation right is given to runners who are or will be 18 years old during the year of the race. Participants will compete at their own risk.

4. Registration
Registration takes place online at the address of www.tallinnmarathon.ee. Registration will end on Saturday, August 31st at 5:00 PM. Registration is opened in Race office 4.-7. September at 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and in the morning of the competition day, from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM.

Participant will be registered after having paying the entry fee.

By registration and paying the entry fee, the participant shall accept the competition rules and regulations.

5. Re-registration
Re-registration is allowed until 5 PM on August 31st, 2013. There will be no re-registration on the day of the race. In case of re-registration, please notify the organizers via the e-mail address of info@tallinnmarathon.ee. The fee is 10 EUR plus the registration fee for the new registration (total=new registration fee minus already paid registration fee plus 10 EUR for the change). Name change costs 10 EUR.

The entry fees will not be refunded if the participant cancels his/her participation. The fees are non-refundable in case of Force Majeure circumstances.

7. Race documents
Race documents consist of a race number, pins, a chip, an info booklet, a T-shirt, sponsors materials.

Race documents will be issued from September 4th to 7th in the race office on Freedom square or on September 8th in the competition centre on Freedom square between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM. The race office will be open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

8. Race numbers
Only entrants with official race numbers for the SEB Tallinn Marathon 2013 will be permitted to compete in the race. Race numbers are not transferable. Bibs should be pinned to the front of the T-shirt so that the numbers are clearly visible. The participants will get the safety pins with their start items. The participants can keep their numbers after the race.

10. Timekeeping
The timing device is on the back of your BIB. BIB must be weared on front of chest. Do not cover the BIB with jacket, BIB must be visible from start to fi nish. Do not fold or bend this BIB in any way! In case of damaged timing device the results may not recorded! The competitor can keep the BIB with timing device after the race, it does not need to return to organizers.

11. Medical Service
It will be possible to contact medical services along the course and at each refreshment station. It will also be available at the start/finish area. Medical personnel and organizers shall have the right to remove any participants with signs of injury or excessive strain from the race. In case of emergency call 112.

12. Cancelling
In case of cancelling, please inform organizers at the nearest refreshment station. Organizers have the right to remove a participant from the race if he/she does not arrive to the timekeeping point within time limit 21,1km 3:15, 30 km 5:15. The maximum race time is 7 hours. Medical personnel and organizers shall have the right to remove any participants with signs of injury or excessive strain from the race.

13. Disqualification
Organizers shall have the right to disqualify a participant, if he/she does not obey the rules of competition, discommodes other competitors or obstructs organizers.

14. Award ceremony
All finishers will get a medal.
The awards ceremony of the marathon will take place at 2:30 PM in the competition centre on Vabaduse square. 6 men and 6 women will be awarded.
After the main awards ceremony there will be an awards ceremony for different age groups (1st place). There are also special prizes and lottery prizes.

15. Photos
The organizers shall have the right to use the photos taken during SEB Tallinn Marathon.

16. Appeals
All appeals against results, violations etc. on first 50 finishers must be filed in an hour after the finish of the 50th finisher. The rest of appeals must be filed within 30 minutes after the finish is closed. Appeal fee is 20 EUR which is refunded only if the appeal is satisfied.
A jury that consists of the director, the head judge, the course designer and a doctor will handle all appeals.

17. General information
Participants are guaranteed a course, a start number, information leaflet, a result in a protocol, service at refreshment stations and at the finish area, T-shirt and medal for marathon runners, awards ceremony, an electronic certificate with name, time and place, medical help and transport to the finish when needed.

Other unforeseen cases will be solved by the Organizing Committee.
